quick update from work...
the girl bought three cd's during our epic three and a half hour mall sojourn last night. metric, the stars, and franz ferdinand. i had already become enamoured with metric and the stars through significant exposure at Posh's house, but this franz thing is new... but at the same time not new - but still good. the track list is like a time warp... first song is like the strokes (who are like many other older bands). second song is pure lou reed. third song's hook is damn near note for note from new order's elegy. track 5's vocals are have some morrison in them (jim, not van).
i haven't really heard the cd enough to comment in depth, but they sound pretty damn good so far... they pull off modern rock without totally succumbing to the raging derivativeness of new york style strokes rock.
anyways, back to... well... my boss is sick at home and there's a meeting in 20 minutes on a big project that he's a pretty key part of. yay meetings.
