Chrismas has come and went. It wasn't as bad as previous years. I had two phone calls from friends, both of them are Jewish but I know them both from back east and they now live out here. I have worked with both of them over the years. My friend at the casino wished me a Merry Christmas. I said that Santa hadn't put anything in my stocking. She had a Santa cap on, then I said that was my stocking and she was in it. She laughed, it was a good hearty laugh.
I went out of my way to call someone who needs a friend, just to wish them a Merry Christmas. It made her day and I felt better about it. It is not what you get for the holidays that is important, but what you give.
