The day I got back from Alabama, part of the one-and-a-half days I left myself in town before I went on leave, I went on-line and checked the balance on the one credit card I own, and found two $1 charges that I certainly didn't make. So I called up the bank and they basically told me that they were monitoring the activity and had tried to call but they didn't have a good number for me. In their defense, I may have forgotten to update that bit of information when I moved to Vegas. So, it appeared that someone got hold of my information off of one "secure" site or another that I do business with and decided to attempt to buy something at Bed Bath and Beyond on-line. Fortunately nothing came of it, the bank canceled the old card, sent out a new one and I had it in possession when I got back from Alaska. It was wonderful, thanks for asking. Fast forward to this morning. I decided, once again, to check my account and wouldn't you know it; someone had written two checks ($7800 and $2100) against my account (the bank sends out these balance transfer checks that I shred, so I don't know how one got through the cracks unless they were put in the wrong mail box by the postal deliver person). So, I called again and long story short the new, less than a month old account number is no longer good, they're sending my yet another card and an affidavit for to do the signing on stating I didn't write the checks and don't know the clown who did. I'm thinking about going with another credit provider for my getting in over my head needs.
In other news, I got on my bicycle for the first time on over two months today. It was like getting re-acquainted with an old friend. It was a great day; a little overcast, in the 50s, light traffic. Just awesome. And for some reason I was riding very well for a guy whose been off the bike so long. I couldn't have had more fun if I'd smoked a bunch of those drugs things all the kids are raving about. After that I came home and partially assembled the new bike. And by that I mean installed the parts that I have. I'm waiting on wheels, tubes and tires and I'm golden. It'll be hawt, and I'll be sure to let you all see it. The bike I mean. My friends are all pervs...
