...and now, sunny Vancouver.

Again.

Just got a little time before boarding my train.

Spent a pleasant evening in Victoria listening to some poetry by a lass called lisa b. (I expected one of those chicks that used to rawk it with Prince but it was not her but someone quite different). She (lisa b who has not rawked it with Prince as far as...

....and in case you had any concerns as to lisa b's rawking potential I should mention that she managed to blow up her sound system.

....and now, sunny Victoria!!!

So, of course I locate the nearest Public Library and access the junta-net.

Went to see Life Aquatic yesterday, is Bill Murray Canadian? Quite a funny movie, Willem Dafoe was really good, but I didn't find it laugh out loud funny unlike a lot of the crowd watching it. Apparently Bill Murray in speedos is hilariously funny. confused
bondgirl:
I think that movie looks really good. And Bill Murray does have something distinctly Canadian about him.
june:
I don't go to see movies in public
because the sound of people laughing makes
me feel angry.
Especially when they laugh at things that
aren't that funny or demand a knee slap response.

Good luck with your tattoo.

Arrived in Van after a pretty uneventful train ride. All 4 days of it. Van much warmer than elsewhere, no snow. eeek

Net deprivation has taken it's toll and jumping back three hours haven't helped. I've no idea what day it is. smile

First impressions are good, library easy to find and will now be trying to plan my escape route.

Touche ... there are a lot of cute girls all across Canada.

If you happen to stop by any malls while in Edmonton, and there is a store called "As Seen on TV Showcase" and you happen to see a balding English gentleman named Graham, say hello to him from store 38 and tell him that we miss him.

Then go have a beer with him.

And yeah ... that is a lot of train rides. You're really seeing the whole show, aren't ya? LOL

Went to the Horseshoe Tavern last night, $6 to see 4 bands. 1st up, the Bull Moose (I think that's what they called). Pretty good 3 piece but they bassist probably shouldn't chip in as his song was really the only weak part of their set. The 2nd band up were..............not as good but had an enthusiastic lead. You knew things were bad when he...

I now have three days on a train ahead of me. I'm hoping that it'll be an "experience" and I don't doubt it will. Whether it's a good or a bad one I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Well you sell a beverage that sports the name Guinness but I'm not entirely sold on it and you have the same obsession about coffee as a lot of Americans. Just how many coffee shops does one city need? Your pubs/bars are nice but I don't know if I'm sold on the lighting. I kept thinking places were closed. Maybe it's just that you like...

It is indeed the 'Beat' Takeshi film, but we didn't watch it due to my mate's ill girlfriend being more demanding than usual (not that we really care as she's lovely, just really demanding...) We will watch it tomorrow though (possibly when she's gone to bed.) smile

nothing much but the little work that I do do is with a gig company called Ultimate Solution and we're going on a UK tour starting March 19th so that should be funn smile

I landed in Toronto yesterday after an uneventful flight. Went up the tower this morning and have been generally monging about.

Lovely.

abadinfluence:
So - you're liking it so far?

Did you enjoy the tower, or think it was over rated? I'm always curious to what people have to think about that.

And really ... what a great day to come ... you went up the tower and looked down upon the dome shaped building - the home to our baseball team ... which has been called Skydome for ... well ... ever.

Except ... today the new owners changed it to "Rogers Stadium" or something equally stupid.

You got to see history in the making.

And this is why I hate history ... it is so boring. LOL

As pinched from elsewhere:

(A) First, recommend to me:
1. a movie:
2. a book:
3. a musical artist, song, or album:

(B) I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions, no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.

(C) Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends to ask you anything.

Haha - I do have Pearl Jam, though I have to admit that I've never heard of Bryter Layter. Rockin out to PJ is fun, though it makes me feel 16 again smile

You think I am a ragger?

i am a little raggy at time, but I'd rather be called 'raggerific.'

Spent most of the day so far sorting out some music to take with me. Takes bloody ages. I have 2 1Gb HiMDs but will probably only be arsed to record one. I haven't finished ripping the cds yet.

Nice to see you've understood my nature straight off. My standards are probably higher than most but I just can't help myself when I see things that are clearly wrong. I think it may be some sort of disorder, but my clinical psychologist friend reckons I'm just a really pedantic bloke... biggrin

Better watch out with your correctly constructed words; Sun readers would burn anyone branded as such. wink

Well I have no GCSEs, I was ill for my final year at school and was unable to take the Exams so I need to just get some qualifications. In other words, I'm screwed frown
misstyrios:
Well....I have considered applying, but I have to look towards the future and consider my career. So I might do a Hopefuls Group set for fun one day instead.
