I put up a new profile picture this week, sans glasses. Its so strange to see myself with (1) shorter hair than Ive had in years and (2) without my glasses. No, I didnt get contacts I just took off the glasses for the picture. My glasses and I have been inseparable for about three years now; I love them! Im undecided whether I like my hair. I got six inches cut off last month and Im still figuring out how to get my naturally wavy hair into those gorgeous straight bobs I envy. Ive never been any good at hair styling. It seems like a useless skill unless youre a beautician or a mom. Come to think of it, video gaming is another useless skill. Its not like theres a box on job applications asking whether or not you solved all the puzzles in Myst or completed all the levels in Quake.
Ive come to realize that Ive got a lot of knowledge in my head that is pretty worthless. I wish there was some way to clear some of it out (or make more storage space) for more interesting stuff. Yeah, like learning how to drive a motorcycle.
