Yesterday evening I went back to the book store to take a test. It was mainly 'have you ever stolen from your employer?' and 'do you think it's ok to steal from an employer?' and other stuff that I answered honestly... cos I'm an honest guy and besides I've never had the OPPORTUNITY to steal from an employer really... not that I would. I'm so not punk rock when it comes to the whole cavalier attitude toward stealing and such... when I was growing up my mom explained that stealing from stores just forces them to raise prices, and all the other customers get screwed, so I have a hard time seeing it as 'stickin' it to the Man!'
There were also some math questions... making change and calculating sales tax and suchlike. I'll probably get a job offer, but since it's holiday work I realized my non-refunfable tickets to visit my family might pose a problem...
After that was done, I went to the 9:30 and caught DJ Food and Amon Tobin. Ninja Tune RULES! There were some cute ladies there, and I inspired some double-takes myself... too bad I'm neurotic and chickenshit, as it's really been striking me lately that I haven't even smooched anyone since April.
But I did dance like a crazy sumbitch. I love Amon Tobin. His new album is great too. I've been listening to it all day while I wrote (and put off writing).
And DJ Food mixed together Michael Jackson's "Bad," "Oops, Oh My," the Fine Young Cannibals' "Good Thing," and the original Motown version of "Tainted Love," all complete with breakbeats. It was quite something.
