Last night I went with my friends to see "Spirited Away." I'm trying to find a way to explain just how much I enjoyed it without turning into a gibbering idiot. I love everything I've ever seen by Miyazaki and this was no exception. I just sat watching the whole movie with my mouth either hanging open or stuck in a big, silly grin that I couldn't get rid of for an hour after I left the theater. I don't want to sound like one of those flakes who's always going on about dragons and unicorns, but there is just no other word for the film-- it was a magical experience. The story was like a fairy tale you heard once long ago but then forgot, the characters were incredible -- even the bouncing disembodied heads had personality -- and the animation was just mind-boggling. If you get the chance, see this movie!
