I spent the weekend at SPX, doing volunteering, hanging out with my comixgeek friends, checking out the indie comics action, spending more than I can really afford, and stargazing.

I got to meet:

Evan Dorkin
Carla Speed McNiel
Antony Johnston
Eddie Campbell

And my volunteer duties consisted of crowd control at an Art Spiegelman signing, though I didn't get to meet the man myself.

There was an astounding number of really cute punk/geek girls in attendance. I think I even noticed one or two giving me "the eye," but in typical Bob fashion didn't talk to any of them. That's the way I am-- I'm chickenshit.

Friday evening I came back into DC to catch Q and not U at the Black Cat, where I danced my ass off. I actually had to pad my ass the next morning so it wouldn't be concave. And on Saturday I left SPX at 2AM after much drinking and carousing to go over to a punk house in College Park where a friend was having a birthday party. We all stayed up until 5AM watching the "floorshow" and shooting the shit. Apparently before I arrived one guy tried to give himself an enema with a garden hose, with disastrous results...

So what the hell am I doing up so early? Gotta help some dear friends up in Takoma Park move today. Thank Dobbs I don't have a job-- this weekend is exhausting me!
