My Daily Routine

So, for many years I worked afternoon or midnight shifts … so I’m trying to get used to mornings again. But, all in all — here is my daily routine.

8am (ish):

Wake up and stretch. I go through the same basic routine Bruce Lee did every day. I did this in my 20s when I did martial arts and it kept me feeling great.

(Try it out it feels amazing)

While still in bed I do the following:

  1. Full Body stretch (like when a cat wakes up from a nap) — 5 reps holding for 5 seconds
  2. Arch back — 5 reps
  3. Leg tensing — 5 reps hold for 5 seconds
  4. Ab tensing — 10 reps
  5. Bent leg raises — 5 reps
Then I get out of bed and do the following: (hold each stretch for 20 seconds going through it 3x)
  1. Seated Straight leg hamstring stretch
  2. Oblique stretch
  3. Hurdler’s stretch (hamstrings & groin)
  4. Seated groin/butterfly stretch
  5. Standing thigh/quad stretch
8:30am (Breakfast):

I used to have severe gut problems and gluten intolerance. I’ve done a lot of research and now follow a modified carnivore diet where I incorporate fruits. Berries, oranges, bananas. I feel amazing. I also add supplements but I won’t add those.

  • 4 whole eggs cooked in butter or ghee
  • 4 strips pasture-raised bacon or 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 orange or 1/2 cup pineapple

9:00am

I’m currently trying to relocate so I spend time to my job search in Dallas. Submit applications, follow up on others, etc.

10:30am Mid-Morning Snack:

  • 6 oz Spam (or cooked beef or turkey)
  • 1 banana (with peanut butter) or orange

11:00am

Just relax, TV/Video games, whatever

1:00pm Lunch:

  • 1 can chunk chicken
  • 1/2 cup blueberries or strawberries, pineapple, etc.

4:00pm:

GYM TIME!

6:00pm Post workout meal/dinner:

  • 8 oz lean meat (steak, bison, or chicken breast)
  • side of fruit like pineapple

6:30pm-9:00pm:

If I’m writing or anything this is when I do it…

9:00pm:

Bedtime snack

  • 3/4 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
  • Handful of berries
  • 1 TBSP raw honey

Sorry, did you say SPAM?! I don’t think I met anyone outside of a Hawaiian dude that admits to eating that! I’ve bought a few cans over the years but never screwed up the nerve to try it!

@skisby I love spam. It’s so good. I used to make sandwiches. You can definitely mess it up easily. Typically 3mins a side is enough. I just love pork in general.
