I am perpetually astonished by the journeys Americans take, almost without noticing. I can't believe that will continue, given that Peak Oil is upcoming (or maybe happened already, which is my thought). In the last year, I'v driven 2.5 (or more) hours to a single destination a total of six times. Of which, two were to do with my dfad dying, and four were to do with my son's hope of going to university.
