I am getting so tired of waiting. July 15th (Leave for MFA Residency) can't come fast enough. I have a few things between now and them, but I'm really not looking forward to them. I'll be going to the regional pool tournament during the first weekend in June, with the whole drama crowd, and I am not looking forward to it. At least this year... Read More
Lots of people doing deep thinking out there in SG-land. So, here is something for them all to think about:
"Critics are worth absolutely nothing: all they do is point an accusing finger at the moment the strong suffer a defeat, or when they commit a mistake. True credit goes to those who are in the arena, their faces covered in dust and sweat and... Read More
I find the whole "don't assume you know what I'm thinking!" line kind of silly, sorry. I don't assume I know what you're thinking, I can only go on what you post, and what you posted sounded exactly like what a zillion other people who get all hard over prison violence post. I have no way of knowing otherwise.
I think it's a little ridiculous to be expected to ask for clarification on someone's post before commenting on it.
Why didn't YOU ask for clarification about whether I was talking only about you or about a larger trend before saying I shouldn't assume I know what you're thinking?
I don't think either would be reasonable. It would completely impinge discussion.
Hi, everybody!
Good couple of days. Got a call on Monday that I made the MFA Program. That means Master of Fine Arts, which is a terminal degree, and means that I can get all sorts of swanky job titles and tenure and stuff!
Feelin' good, roommate free. Now, if I could just find a job from May 15 to June 30 and I'll be... Read More
Yesterday, I applied for an MFA program (Master of Fine Arts). An MFA degree is a terminal degree, which would allow me to apply for full-time, tenure-track teaching positions and work in my preferred area.
I will know if I got in or not in the next few weeks.
Got a response about the China trip. From a monetary standpoint, I don't think it will work. They would be paying me less to do more, and I am barely holding on by my fingertips as things stand now.
Which leads me to option 2. I need to get some more information, but I may attempt to get another degree, which would allow me to... Read More
So, I'm trying to decide if I should apply to go to China for the Fall Semester as a teacher/advisor to a group of students from my school. The details are kinda sketchy, but the job would mean I would teach 1 class to the students who come with me, and would somehow be in charge of the exchange program (which would include about 15... I am having a nerd-crisis! I have no idea what sort of nerd I am. I'm not a techno-nerd. I simply cannot get excited about the latest release from Apple. I'm not a sci-fi nerd, since I only get a passing enjoyment from sci-fi shows, and even then I don't go overboard. I'm not a music nerd, since my tastes are simple, eclectic, and I... Read More
he won't venture in that arena for a bit. he doesn't need to be running into me nekkid. and i'll show him the ropes anyhow. i'v already warned him how mean people are. and he has really bad ADD/ADHD. so i'm sure the grammar police will be on his ass eventually.
Regardless. I'm quite sure, he won't be posting in many groups and boards. it's all about sg chat and regional groups.
you know how most people join for boobs and stay for the community? well...he's joining for the community..Haha
