I agree -- certainly call the student out. From the student's end, there's no worse and more lesson-enforcing feeling than that heart-pounding in your throat feeling of being busted thoroughly at some grand scheme. And you are better than to let that slide, or even just to handle it entirely passively. You have authority -- I say, use it. It's not abuse; it's your role. Put her in hers.
Second, that's cool about the tutor and that she wasn't actually being whoashitty. Also mega points on the attractiveness and intelligence levels, and the little bonding exercise this ended up being. I mean, so at least there's that.
