Getting my wisdom teeth removed has been an year and half long process. It started Feb 2005, when the orthodontist at Osan convinced me that it was finally time for them to go. You see, the bottom two are half cut and the top 2 are "too far back to properly care for." The have yet to cause me problems except for an occasional piece of food getting stuck under the overlapping gum and irritating for a day or 2. Anyways, the get me into the chair, ready to knock me out, when an attendant comes in and says I need to go back to my squadron. There I find my oldest little sister died in an accident. I'm on a plane home the next day. When I got back to Korea a week later, the shop was under-staffed, leaving me as one of two qualified individuals for a month and leaving in June. No rescheduling. I get back stateside, into a very small shop, on a different system. Getting trained took priority. Around Feb 06, it looked clear to try again. Nope. 4 trained people, one on deployment, up-coming TDY of uncertain departure date requireing 2 trained people, one other needing training. Couldn't get in again until May, nope! TDY finally took off. Try again in June and someone with a higher priority bumped my appointment out to July 11th (at least that's what they said they'd reschedule me for.) I show up, ready to have my teeth taken out to find that not only was I not on the schedule, but the Oral Surgery dpt. was not even open that day. So here I am, been eating ice cream, pudding, soup, and mac and cheese for a week. I get other stuff while at work, just putting a dent in the surplus of soft food I had to get last week while at home.
Now scheduled Aug 23.
I swear, if I get in that chair and someone dies again, I'll take it as a sign from a higher power that these teeth must stay attached to me as long as possible.

It's always the default decision to just yank em out. Regardless of whether there's actually an issue. Rebel! Fight the power!
