Tomorrow I travel to West Palm Beach and Melbourne to conduct two taped interviews of people suspected of fraud. We (unofficially) rather already know one guy is committing fraud. He had been employed at his job for only nine days, his reported injury is inconsistent with witnesses, and he delayed reporting his accident by three days. He called us saying he "thought" the interview was scheduled for today, consequently we will now go to his house unannounced.
And today I watched surveillance tape of a guy whom back in January supposedly received a sprained ankle from falling off of a ladder. We do not dispute that he may have. But it's now May and we caught him playing golf with his parents the day before Mother's day. He lifted his legs onto a vehicle bumper to change his shoes, ten minutes later he stretched his legs bending at his knees and grabbing onto his ankles, hours later returning from the golf course he once again put his feet onto a vehicle bumper to change his shoes. No visible signs of pain or impairment.
On the other hand, today I watched surveillance tape of a man standing outside his house. He was looking suspiciously at the surveillance car practically the whole time. At one time he hid behind a corner and peeked around the corner to suspiciously look at the car. When he went out to get the mail, he got very close to the car and stood there for a few moments just watching the car. It's scary shit.
I'm just waiting for the day I get free trips to New York City. I've always wanted to visit.
