Is anyone else's mail buggy as all fuck?! I keep getting new mail notices, but there ain't shit there that's new.

{We're reading a book about language at my job, so I'm trying on new language hats. The above is my angry Southerner dialect. I grew up in Texas, so I actually do slip into that mode a LOT. Do you have a special way...

Good gravy, you're ever so anti-Kiki Dee. It's always "KIki Dee sucks" and "Kiki Dee blows"...it's a wonder that you have any time at all to criticise anything else in life!

Mind you, I admire the hell out of you for the focus that you have. By spreading my angst too thinly, no one individual ever really feels my complete wrath. And, really, that brings a tear to my eye.

Going to see a movie soon. Doo-dah, doo-dah!
surlymike:
Ahh, that Afterbirth...he's quite the card. All the 7th graders find him and his dick jokes high-larious!

I went to see Overlord. Not a great film, but I was glad to have seen it, anyway. For once, I actually agreed with the reviewer from the weekly Stranger newspaper.

Hmmm. A new set from Aiki. She's one of my faves. I'll be sure to see if it's any good.

So, how was everyone's 4th? I went to my friend Brynn's house, as per every year lately. She and her boyfriend, Jared, are nice enough to have me and my husband over for some Johnsonville brats (that's a type of sausage -- not annoying...

actually.... you are a very good writer...
i love the smell of roasted coffee too, especially just walking into
the door at Starbucks.
for some reason, it smells better to me if someone else is brewing it.

i once thought i was in love with a man out in n.y.c, but it was pretty much
obsessive infatuation and codependancy....
thank the gods i grew out of it.
I didn't want to end up like Glen Close in Fatal attraction biggrin

Let me specify: Roasted tomatoes and adzuki beans. Yum!

Whew, folks! Looks like we're surviving another brush with interstellar death. Nothing like a little smashy smashy to shake things up a bit.

From The Irish Independent this morning:

Is It a Bird? Is It a Plane? No, It's a Giant Asteroid

AN ASTEROID up to half a mile wide is due to brush past Earth early today, approaching almost as close as the moon....

stop freaking me out...

Murphey's Law applies to all things - shower slashers, hidden cameras, and giant rocks hurtling towards Earth.

{There was an image here that mildly related to cameras and being photographed unawares, hence the rambling spiel below. I try not to soapbox out of the blue if I can help it.}

I often used to freak myself out by assuming that there were hidden cameras watching me in various places. Mostly when I was a nanny (!!!) I assumed that my employers had...

I am always paranoid about hidden cameras too.

I would hate to have a job and be treated like a shitsucker like that!

Who's ready for some Miami Vice -- movie style? I bet Don Johnson's pissed that some punk Irish man nympho is playing his role. I saw the poster for the movie on the subway platform, and I thought, "I can't believe that's being turned into a movie." I used to watch the show religiously in the 80's, even though the violence used to freak me...

When you guys are all in VT, I want you to take a picture for us just like the one in my journal. Be sure to give your 110% biggrin

trust me..
i'm right there with ya..
struggling to breathe on an everyday basis can make one mighty bitchy as an individual (i'm speaking for
myself here)
i too wish i could walk around with those breathe right strips on all day.
at night sometimes i get so frustrated i just stick a wad of tissue up my nose to distract
me! whatever
i was hoping the surgery would be a success, but it only helped it slightly..
i can however smell a bit more since having it done.
maybe it would have healed better if i was a nonsmoker.
or perhaps they did not chisel enough bone and cartilage out of there....

I need another nose job!

hope you are enjoying your weekend so far...
I liked "The Others" too... nice old fashioned ghost story biggrin

I don't have anything thrilling to say. The weather here has been scuzzy: hot, humid, or flat-out raining shitbuckets. My plants have suffered major casualties due to the abundance of moisture in the air and soil, and the complete lack of sunlight. It's been better today, but supposedly not for long. It took me 5 trains to get to work this morning due to L...

i love that movie!
its silly and campy but right on target...
and its funny as all hell.
I'm not picky about films which is why i would be a horrible film critic!

if it even mildy entertains me, i just can't bad mouth it biggrin
surlymike:
Be careful, Corpy Baby, Xenu doesn't like you speaking about Scientologists!

Back in a few days. Don't miss me too much now.

What a day! Have you ever had to go out with someone, knowing full and well that you were pretty poor, but wanted to play it off as if you weren't? If not, go fuck yourself. This isn't the place for you. But if so, it can be pretty stressful, right? The whole time the other person is talking to you, you're adding up what...

Well, then, you're just cruel. Do my mucus-clogged sinues mean nothing to you? Fortunately, I did buy a gallon of orange juice last night. All of that vitamin C goodness is bound to conquer the evil cold to Kingdom Come.

And how are you on this Saturday, Ms. Ho?
surlymike:
Fine, just ruin my vitamin C fantasies with your "facts" and "realities." I thought that we had entered a new world where gut feelings and discussions with God served as the basis for all of our actions, but, apparently, you still maintain a bizarre devotion to observational science!

Ahh, The Misfits...I think that that was the final film for both Gable and Monroe. Is it any good?

The NY subways sometimes have Poetry in Motion posters in them, on which they display various poems for the sake of entertaining the commuters. I liked this one by Jalaludin Rumi. It made me feel peaceful. It's nice when very few words can say so much so easily.

Out beyond ideas
of wrongdoing and rightdoing
there is a field. I'll meet you there.

wow.....
and you summed it up perfectly
"very few words can say so much so easily"
and that is really a gift that many writers don't actually posess.

but poets tend to figure it out and make it look somewhat easy don't they?
brandi77:
I like that a lot too.

Arg. New look for SG. I guess I'll get used to it eventually. It seems a bit buggy for now, though. Sometimes it all seems to be gilding the lily, you know? Anyway, I can tell it's going to be a lazy Saturday for me. The weather has finally cleared up, thank goodness. My seedlings had been dying slowly because the soil couldn't dry out...

Ewww, bratwurst. That's just so gross! puke I can still recall how unpleasant it was to chew on gristle.
And, of course, I wouldn't imagine that I could do a Wisconsin accent, either. I'm just hopeless, I suppose. wink

Proof that life without brats can be very good! biggrin oink
