The weather was supposed to be crappy today, but it's a beautiful, sunny day. My bestest buddy is meeting me at my place, and then we're going to have lunch at Dumont. They have a lovely garden, which will probably have a waiting list. If I'm smart, I won't be drinking, but I think I'm already tasting the bloody mary. Sigh.

I scored some fabulous old clothes at the local second-hand shop, and a perfectly gaudy pair of copper faux snake heels. I shouldn't be spending money before my mother comes up to visit, but that's what always happens in the spring. I get this hazy-lazy brain due to the soft breezes and cheery new greenery -- and oh, I have not a care in the world.... Excuses, excuses.

I am considering visiting a friend in St. Kitts (the Bahamas) in October, but a very large, rational portion of my brain is saying that is an incredibly stupid idea in light of the increasing hurricane activity each year. I don't know -- I have some reservations about that trip.
