I met a girl that I really like, at a queer women's book club. We have a lot in common - we've gone on two dates so far and had hot sex, plus plans for a third. We have similar values and are sexually compatible, and also have a lot in common in terms of what we'd want out of a relationship. I feel like...

Wow, I'm baking up a storm lately!

Last week: Key lime pie with homemade graham cracker crumb crust. For a dinner party me and my roommates had. Larry cooked Indian food. The guests brought a few store bought desserts, but people mostly ignored those in lieu of the pie.

I brought a coconut tres leches cake in to work. It's a Latin American dessert, mostly...

Are you still taking the train down to BWI this weekend? Let me know so I can plan. smile
jamielee:
Plans for this weekend are a little complicated, so I'm going to call you later. When are you free to talk?

Some people "get" me, and like me. In fact, quite a lot of people do. And other people, well, they just don't get me. I will be the first to admit that I am opinionated and socially awkward, with the latter intensified in large groups of folks I'm not used to spending time with on a regular basis.

Generally, the people that get me (friends...

Yeah, so be it. Great post. Some folks should take notes.

Blah, blah, blah. So about this... what I'm talking about... actually, nevermind.

And camping sounds awesome. I love camping but I only get to go when I get to take leave back home to cali. Alaska is way too fucking wild for that. Also, if I were to get drunk I'd get half retarded ideas I could take a bear, or if not, die trying, with my bare hands. Have a lot fun?

If it's not one thing, it's another. I'm not working at the beauty salon anymore - it was a temp position that I got through a temp agency and the assignment ended. To occupy my time until I get offered something else, I'm taking a couple of classes. One is a Psych class and another is a social work class called Group Participation. After meeting...

Yay! Today I got a ride to go to East Coast Camping, and I am officially registered! That is such a relief because I had SO much trouble finding a ride. Like... I lite!rally asked 7 people before I found someone who could definitely take me. I want to go so bad and it was looking impossible.

In other news, I went and got Thai...

Hey pretty lady! Great to hear from you and hear that life is going well. When one of phillies awesome events is happening give me a heads up and I will really try hard to make it. My girlfriend and I have a bit of the traveling bug. Enjoy ECC and I'm thinking of trying to make it to the white trash BBQ.

Today I made:

Falafel salad with crumbled falafel, cottage cheese, and steamed spinach. It may sound gross but it was actually really good!

Dates stuffed with brazil nuts.

Yum.

I'm a store junkie too--I usually stop off somewhere on the way home from work. Tonight I grabbed avocados and spinach for some tacos, and a watermelon. Mmmm, summer.

Oh yeah! I got a job. I'm a receptionist at an upscale salon in Center City. It happens to be within walking distance of my house and my gym. I'm starting at part time with the option of expanding to full time once I'm trained. My co-workers are pretty cool, and half of them are gay. It works out really well because I wanted office-y...

So, I am officially moved in with my friends in South Philly! It was a shit ton of work, but I'm glad it's over. Now I'm just adjusting to my new routine here. They are eco-crazy so I have to remember to recycle and turn out lights every time I leave a room. In fact, we got into a discussion about whether or not I...

Well... I haven't updated in awhile.

I'm considering moving in with some friends in South Philly. For other Philly residents, they live in the Queen Village area. It's a gay guy couple that I've known for awhile. It might be a good thing, and I'd definitely save some money on rent. I'm feeling very ambivalent about moving. It's a big change to make.

My cats...

That's a great area; we need to move too but not going South this time.

Welcome back ... are you still using Kelly Services by any chance?

i'm sorry to hear that your kitties are sick! i, too, am an overprotective cat owner, so i know what it's like. my two have had upper respiratory issues since we got them, i think our current apartment is toxic, air-wise. thankfully, we're moving in 3 weeks.
hope that they both get well soon! smile
i saw your post in the "kitties" group, so i thought i'd stop by and say hi.
i'm not a random guy, but i saw what you said about commenting before friend requesting smile

I'm considering adding some other things to my life. Well, things I've wanted to do for a long time, I just have to get up off my ass and do them. I have a bad habit of staying in with the kitties and watching DVDs or reading, and staying in with friends when we hang out. Well... when I lived in the DC area, I...

Congrats on the new job! That sounds awesome! I agree on the jeans front. I HATE low rise, my ass always hangs out and I walk so much that they stretch out and end up falling down and I have to pull them up constantly.

I've become quite the stay at home gal recently. Most of my friends do the bar scene and there is a huge community of lesbians hitting bars but it's too much of a feeding frenzy for me. Instead I work all day, come home, make dinner, play with the kitty, read and watch movies with my girl when she gets home.

For fun, I go to new restaurants (we have found some AWESOME places in the area for sushi), rock climbing and I'm actually going to African Dance next week! I can't wait!

A lesbian book club sounds like the ticket though, good luck!

PS I just remembered my new favorite thing to so is go to the lesbian coffee shops! It is sooo much fun, I just check email, read, chill and it's just a sweet safe space with hot ladies that are actually interested (not that I would go for it, happily taken, but it's fun anyway)! Come visit Brooklyn!

I've been having kind of a low key sort of weekend. Haven't updated this thing in awhile.

Friday night I went to a bar in south Philly to celebrate a friend's birthday in a gathering of his friends and co-workers. It was quite fun! Saw some of my favorite gay guy friends, and met some new and fun folks. The only crappy part was getting...

The lake was completely frozen over, but the snow actually acted as insulation and melted the ice, so it is pretty much not frozen at all.

I have skiing class on Monday. College class, that is. If it is canceled because of the snow, I am going to be so pissed.
