October has come and gone in a flurry of events:

Went back to Edmonton for a visit. Hung out with the niece and family. Had a great time. Saw everyone I wanted, had many unexpected surprises, and didn't run into anyone I didn't want to see.

Had a strange drive back to Oregon with my dad. 2 entire days of short conversations. Well. At least I tried.

Made it to Mosier safe and sound and unpacked my belongings into my new house. I love my new house. Pictures to come.

Went to Vegas and met some friends from Edmonton. Glad I went, but am in no rush to go back.

Took friends to the Oregon coast which is glorious. March out to the ocean. Close your eyes. Listen. Feel water pushing against you. Sink into the silky sand. Squeeze your toes. You'll swear heaven sprung a leak and you're in its stream.

Finally back to regular life. Almost done unpacking. I've spent more than a few leisurely hours admiring the craftmans' work in my house. This is my favorite house I've ever walked into and I feel so incredibly lucky to be living here. I get up in the morning and look at the river. I have a 5 minute drive to work between river and foothill mountains. And it's soooo quiet here. Mosier is a town of 450 people and you'll hear the train at about 10 and that's all. I've never lived somewhere so peaceful.

Yes, October was a month of transitioning for me, and this chapter I'm beginning has me feeling very excited.
