Happenings:
Talked with my dad today and he mentioned that my mom is sick, but they only live together not talk together, so he knows she's taking pills but has no idea what for, and knows that sometimes she can hardly walk... and then has the gall to claim that perhaps she's making it up. Yes. Sometimes he just says the worst possible thing.
Talking with him is difficult. You don't talk to him because he doesn't listen although you'd swear he's looking at you and the words are going into his ears, but somewhere after that they get lost in a very meek understanding of people - his wife of 35 years included. And he is the worst person to have on the phone because any story about anything has to be told with every detail, relevant or not. Why say We hooked up a new TV for Elizabeth when you could say everything including how you had to drill something through the floor and blah blah blah oh my god you know people joke about pulling the phone away and not listening I actually did that today because I can't handle him sometimes. Biggest heart in the world but sometimes so hard to handle. It makes me sad. For all he knows his wife could be dying and guaranteed he's thinking that's the way he's going to get out of this marriage instead of actually dealing with any issues.
Wow. That's a very obscure statement I just wrote, but it's been brewing in the back of my head and yes, I do actually believe it.
