She was right. Things do always get better...

My friend whom I had coffee with on Sunday invited me for coffee again on Monday and wanted to talk about a boy and all the problems associated with the Infernal Species. It was a great talk, pretty much the opposite of Sunday's. We talked about boys, we talked about why people accept dissatisfactions; why _we_ accept dissastifactions in relationships.

To me, the start of a relationship is usually (sadly) the best part. Everything is so full of potential and possibilities. After a while things go stagnant (or maybe I'm just a boring person - predictable and mundane) and I tend to lose interest. And so, I cherish and relish the starts of relationships, and do as much as I can to embrace these fleeting moments that time perfumes then spoils.

Unfortunately, some boys aren't like that, and can hurt some of my friends. I tell my friend she deserves to be called when he says he'll call and that she doesn't deserve to get stood up, even if she had no expectations... and sometimes, when people 'have no expectations,' they're just pretending so they don't have to show that they're hurt...

But what surprised me is that my friend admitted this and we talked about it. It was such a good conversation. I wish I had a tape recorder on me because it was just such a good moment. I felt like her friend, and it felt good, great, wonderful.

Feels great to have such an awesome friend.
