I'm currently writing an exam paper (10 pages, nothing major) on the way that people with certain diagnoses (I use ADHD as my main example) tend to be looked at, by themselves, the institutions they encounter and society at large, as "being their condition", comparable to the way so many people are simply seen as "male", "female" or even "gay", "transsexual" etc, without looking deeper...
