Last year, my winter car was having some problems that while I tried to fix them myself over the summer, I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, and just recently took it to the experts. They found out what was wrong and are fixing it to the tune of $1700.00. I was prepared to spend $500-1000. This blew me away. Good thing I got a raise at work, or my whole week would have been shot... up until yesterday anyway.

Yesterday I and a friend went to see the movie Elektra. While I really don't buy the comic and I'm not too impressed with the comic character, I was impressed by the cameo in the Daredevil movie, and thought this film wouldn't suck as much as the comic. Boy was I wrong. Don't get me wrong, the movie was good, but it wasn't as great as I hoped.

I then watched a dvd at home later last night from 1998 called the Peacemaker. This was much better than I expected, and yes, it was better than Elektra. But I spent time with my friend, and that is always time well spent.

I hope this week coming up gets better as certain people go back to work where I can see them again..
sapient_fool:
I don't know which is more foolish. You not naming in your journal the "friend" that you went to the movie with. Or you trying to do your own home auto repair. On the one hand, by naming her you could have become to envy of all of SG and had your coolness quotient elevated by several degrees. On the other hand unless your winter car is a '72 Nova, I can't believe you would consider a knuckle-busting, home remedy repair job. Back to #1... I would scream it all over SG that she was sitting with me in the theater, if only to feel the self importance for a moment. And #2, I have done complete engine rebuilds in my spare time but I will not lift the hood of a modern automobile. So, I'm torn as to which concept would make a more foolish man? biggrin
