Had a weird one at work today. I was at work, abusing the company internet policy just before lunch, when the receptionist came bursting into the office in a bit of a tizz. It turns out that one of our colleagues was having her car investigated by a spindly, shifty looking black guy in cheap trackies, T shirt and baseball cap - on our private...

Home again, home again, jiggedy jig...

Well it's about time I wrote something, having concealed my head in my ass for a few weeks now! Feeling a lot better on the whole... I even started trying to learn something tricky on guitar the other day (for the first time in about five years!)

And I've started getting into Philip K Dick short stories. Yes, that's...

Hum! A bit of a weird week on the good ship Swish-Hips.

Let me explain... I was kind of diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome early last year. I finally came out of denial (or rather did the research) this week... turns out I'm going to have to get comfortable with the idea of being what basically amounts to Mr. Spock, except with the bonus of all...

This is my first post in what seems like ages. Not because I've been away, or broken my PC, but because NOTHING'S HAPPENED!

Nonetheless I am still alive, unlike most of the Deadly Viper Assassination squad. Just skint and pissed off. Don't ever get a mortgage, people! It's social doom.

Times like this make me wish that we still had those little retro-evolutionary touches like...

OK, through boredom laced with cabin fever, I have decided on the way forward.

This week, I are mainly being left-handed!

Having been stuck indoors this weekend to give my poor overworked endocrine system a rest, I got to reading a bunch of things from my ever-growing library of the esoteric (in between watching Matrix Revolutions and every single DVD extra). And I got to...

Bah! Chronic fatigue syndrome has struck again... It seems to have kicked in when the clocks change, every year for the last four years now!

For anybody who's not familiar with it, it's where your poor overworked adrenal glands (or gland in my case) start to go on strike, and all of a sudden you're not producing the hormones you need to respond well to...

Well, it's been a fun weekend... Finally got my arse down to the Ship on Friday with most excellent NY visitor Sensuality, where we got to meet some of the SGUK London Massive... jolly nice people all of you!

In fact the only blip on the whole evening was on the way home, when I stopped for a slash at Charing Cross. More information...

Hullo there, was nice to meet you, no need to apologise for the brief hellos, I noticed you conversing to your chums at the next table, you can hardly run off and abandon them to go speak to your porno buddies tongue

But yes, anime, let me see

Recommendations based on you saying your current favourite is Ninja Scroll:

Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X: Known as various silly things in different parts of the world. Only watched a few episode myself, but I've ehard many good things about it, and it seems perfectly acceptable samurai shennanigans. Lots and lots of episodes to DL, couldn't tell you where to start.

Berserk: Rather violent medieval fantasy romp. Be aware that the first episode doesn't realy set the tone for the whole series. A single series of 26 episodes.

Recommendations I'll make anyway:

Cowboy Bebop: Incredibly slick and stylish sci-fi romp with an amazing soundtrack. 1 series of 26 episodes and a movie, get them all and watch them repeatedly.

Trigun: Fun genre-bending sci-fi/steampunk/western anime with some excellent character design. Some might say it starts off a little slow, but definitly picks up the pace and intensity a little way in. 1 series of 26 episodes.

Read or Die: Fun little mini-series of 3 episodes with a slightly kitsch, 60's chic meets steampunk kind of feel to it. I love the design on this one.
mechapearlbass:
yeah for new friends.

I was invited to the embassy of course, being one of those upstanding citizens of course. hehe biggrin

It's a black armband day for me today... Probably the best film ever for me was the 1973 original motion picture of Jesus Christ Superstar. Shot on location in Israel, the scenery is breathtaking; the musicians are the best to play on any version of the musical, the costumes are excellent (Check out the priests, and Roman soldiers with submachine guns)... and the performances of...

Had a bit of a breakthrough with the old tai chi this week... a little tilt of the shoulders, and no more toppling over when I do kicks! Not easy waving a foot around and staying upright when the kick lasts two and a half hours.

So now I kick ass in slow motion. Let's hope the next guy who jumps me is half-man, half-three-toed-sloth......

At last! My band has another gig! So I'll be dusting off the old drumsticks for a little soiree at the 12-Bar club, Denmark Street, Sat 20th March...

And of course, being Wednesday today, i guess I'd better do a poem. An oriental flavour this week... haiku 2 u 2!

Better to have loved
And lost than to have your ear
Stapled to a train...
