Bathrobes as Gifts
Anyone else notice the influx of bathrobes during holidays? Not just Christmas, but Valentines day and Mothers/Fathers day. WTF? Who gives bathrobes as gifts. I think a bathrobe as a gift in gereral is totally condesending. Seriously. Here is what a bathrobe as a gift says to me:
"Here! you are worth at least $30 of my hard earned money, but I don't know you well enough to think of anything else to give you!"
or
"I am so unoriginal I picked this bathrobe for you out of the mountian of bathrobes on the display table at Macy's/Victorias Secret/Wal-Mart/Rave"
Seriously though. Bathrobes cost at the very least $20 and range all they way up to $80! Why wouldsomeone spend that kind ofmoney on something so trite? I would rather have a mechinacal tie rack then a bathrobe I think, and I only have like, 4 ties. At least that has some kind of ironic humor to it.
And its not like women are the only ones who may recieve a bathrobe. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! I saw one at the mens department at Dillards and it was $48. $48 EFFING DOLLARS FOR A BATHROBE?!? Please.

I bought my guy a bathrobe last Valentines day since he said his nipples got cold between the shower and the bedroom when he lived in a colder place.
