Owch! Part 4 in a 5 part series of my single tooth root canal. My face is still numb!

I was annoyed at work by having a Vice President dump a USELESS and FUTILE pricing/ proposal project on me that will take several hours to complete. Several hours I don't have!! I'll promptly DELEGATE The project to one of my people. POOPY rolls downhill... I...

I'm in pain thinking about your root canal..............

Thinking about your root canal keeps making me want to sing "15 Miles on the Erie Canal."

Nope, no dumping going on around here right now... after I start my new job I'll let you know. wink

So I'm in Barnes and Nobles today nosing around, buying the latest copies of MOJO, Scientific American and Fortean Times. Someone behind the counter has the refined taste to be playing John Coltrane throughout the store, adding great flair to my shopping adventure.

And as I'm puttering around the history section, some half assed woman scowls and says... "Jesus Christ, this music is terrible!! Let's...

Yep, I sympathize. Some people are just disaster areas when it comes to taste. They should be made to wear warning signs: "DANGER--CRAPPY TASTE--STAND BACK 20 FEET."

Your luck vibes worked! Thanks again. smile

So this woman from my past (Pam (name has been changed to protect the innocent) ) sends me a saucy letter just a month before I'm getting married. One of those "I'm thinking about you a lot, I'm lonely, come see me" type of letters.

First thing I do is tell my future wife that I've received such a letter.

Second, I ask Pam to...

yes, our post-MT party is at Amina's place... if she's anywhere near half as cool as the other SG's I've met, I don't know what... things are already pretty goddamned good lol...

Do the Q' - and you may want to throw a few suggestions out there that are 18+ so some of the junior members in the area can hang and meet the peeps. One of the ppl I was chatting with last night was lamenting that she's not yet 21, and the only get togethers she knew of were bars or something.
siv:
wowww, that is definitely a woman you marry. a keeper of grade-A-ness.

i hope someday i find a man who'll pose naked for a Luscious Box. teehee.

One of my team is getting a promotion, so I took the team out for dinner and drinks. Discussion included: informercials, TV crap, Iraq, lateral marketing strategies, executive blunders, and padding of financial questions.

LOVERS AND FREAKS, stand ho!!

Turns out the woman who went nuts on me at work on Tuesday had been up all night having nightmares about amputations. You see, her ex-husband is on his deathbed and got gangrene in one of his legs, resulting in having it sawed off. So the image of this rather unpleasant situation made such an impression on her that she dreamt about it all night....

Hmm, yes, I can see where that would leave someone in a less than perfect state of mind. While not a fear I hold constantly, becoming an amputee is one of those occasional thoughts that gives me the wiggins. To have someone close to me go through it? I shudder to think.

Not really familiar with Kirby's work. I haven't been all that impressed with the golden age era comics (he was golden age, right?) that I've seen, so I haven't really tried to track anything he's done down. Perhaps I should rectify that someday.

Wedding? Justice of the peace.
voltaire:
I hope I don't sound insensitive by saying this... that woman probably feels terrible for her outburst, no matter how valid her feelings.... she will probably feel better after her ex passes.... because she won't have to worry about it anymore, and she'll know he's not in pain any longer....I've been thinking about her the past couple of days, actually and wishing her well....
what the heck is a "program'? is that the thing on paper that they hand out right before you're seated in the church?

One of my teammates at work went berserk on me today. I'm the boss, mind you and when she came in, I loaded her up with stuff to do. Which is a very typical thing for me to do, I tend to load everyone on the team with work. She's got some personal shit going on (her ex is on his deathbed), got some nasty...

I have been a few bands, but not as of late... I'm looking for people that want to do something new, instead of another reinvention of another bands genius.....

I hired someone at work today. She was so excited to join my team...

It's bizarre to have the power over someone's life to increase their quality of living or to fire them and cause them all kinds of grief. It's humbling, and yet I'm just one guy in the massive corporate food chain. The character above me could waive their magic wand and send...

Thank you for the compliments. And, yes, the Italian Girl, she is quite interesting; she happens to pop up from time to time.

I still stand by my comment in the "Literary Ambitions" thread that if you desire to sell a book a poetry it's a good idea to publish your verse first in literary journals, if only for the exposure. The poetry community is rather incestuous.

Hmm, I always wonder if I'd enjoy being in a position of power in coporate American. Somehow I doubt it. Responsibility, what's that?

Today, in an bizarre attempt to inject more mystery, poetry and abstraction into the SG site, I'm posting the first of a series of 64 "Goddess Letters" on the boards. Don't know what to expect...it's possible they won't have an effect at all!!

I love Nutter Butter cookies.

Wood paneling can sometimes provide comfort.

Which board did you put the first Goddess Letter on? You should post a link to it.

Wood paneling is indeed groovy. Nutter Butters... damn it, now I need to go to the store.

Spent entire day working on wedding plans. Lord Claude asked me on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most far from tradition, where is my wedding?

I'd have to say about a 7. The attire is traditional, but the music and ceremony aren't. We're writing our own vows, I've written most of the music and the readings. I've avoided any semblance...

Yeah, I'll have to swing by and say hello - I like the stuff she writes, she seems so cool.

Last night had a dream that half of the company I work for was laid off. It could happen!! Went shopping today to collect materials for my secret projects.

My home office is a mess.

I love Vanilla Coke.

I opened a window for some air.

The temperature is dropping like dollars.

dude, you wanna read a journal that rocks... razor13 is by far the sickest writer ive seen on SG
rexphantom:
I thought I would respond to your, um, response here where you could read it--I know lots of folks who are into comics and aren't whiney nerds about it, so I certainly don't think *everyone* is like that. But when some of those cats get so aggressive and angry on their message boards and websites it makes me want stab them with pencils. They're imaginary characters! Written for eight year olds!

I think I'll do a This Is What I'm Working On Now as a journal entry in the near future.

I think I'm going to start a punk-pop duo and call it "Mysterious Photographs."
