I just got billed for another year even though I never visit this site anymore. Woo hoo.

Well, looks like SG has redesigned again. The UI is a little sloppy but the design is the first one I've seen that I actually really like.

Anyway, I am mainly writing this just to point out to anyone who may occasionally stumble across my profile that I'm still alive and to lament that so far 2006 has been far more busy and far less...

I got an email yesterday from a movie director / editor who has done several things with David Lynch and was film editor of one of the Star Wars films.

I wrote an article for my web site a couple years ago about a certain professional wrestler who was active in the 1950s and 60s in Memphis and Georgia who was almost solely responsible for...

If you posted a comment on the last entry and wondered why there's been no reply, basically the reason is that I'm not great at maintaining corrospondence.

Also, I have been busy finishing up my current contract position. I can't go into all the details, but imagine having to make a very complicated web site work for people who (and I mean this literally) can't...

i saw that, but havent tried it. is it like an energy drink or something?
coaltrainrobber:
It's a blend of Coke and coffee. 45 calories in an 8 oz bottle, with twice the caffiene as regular Coke.

It's also expensive ($2/bottle) as the Coke corporation is going after adults rather than kids.

I'm in Austin Texas today for the SXSW Interactive conference. It was 91 degrees yesterday! That's about 30 degrees outside of my comfort range.

And to think that the girlfriend wants to move here. She is really going to have to employ every negotiation technique available.

how was SXSW? haven't been in several years and i do miss it.
so, was your girlfriend able to sway you towards moving? wink
meatypunk:
dont do it! the greatness of the austin music scene is not worth living in *shudders* Texas...

Yeah, but every so often it makes some pretty embarrassingly wrong suggestions.

pandora is the shit. my friend sent me the link to it a couple weeks ago.
i've discovered tons of new music and it feels like falling in love all over again!

Hi.

I'm sitting at my desk in my home office drinking Coke Zero and putting off working on a web site that the client has decided they hate and may not use even when it's done.

It is a month overdue. Mainly because of the client, although I'm sure they would not see it that way.

I am still averaging at least one night per...

"How's the working independently going?"

This was my first week back as a freelancer (also worked for myself Nov to May last year.) As it happens, I still ended up driving to Boston three times this week. And for some reason I woke up Monday morning and my left eye looked like someone repeatedly stuck their finger in it. I think I may have scratched...

I am about to quit my job and go back to working for myself.

The positive, no more working for a company that considers mediocrity a virtue.

The negative, I may very well run out of money quite soon.

Money is not everything. it can't buy me love (apparently) or happiness for that matter.. just don't get lost working for everyman.

BTW, we never had our game......
mistress_:
Update man! Update!

How's the working independently going? Have you become a lazy bum that works in his tighty-whiteys all day and never gives his razor a second glance?

New John Lennon recordings? Interesting.

Also, although dead, Lennon made $21 million last year.

He's no Elvis, though. Dead Elvis made $45 million.

We could make it later if you prefer. I am, by my very nature, a creature of the night.

Sorry this didn't make its way to you yesterday. Haloween is one of the craziest times of my year.
Tonight is not looking great. I have a person coming over to asess my property this evening and I know it will upset the chitlins (already compromised) schedule. Not to mention that I have no clue how long the damn thing is going to take!
Goddamn divorce. Disrupting my life yet again.(More about that another time).
Leave me a message or send me some e.
K?
Ciao

I went to the IMAX theater at Providence Place for the first time. I am a sucker for anything to do with the space program, so I had to go see "Magnificent Desolation" - the Tom Hanks project about the experience of the astronauts who landed on the moon.

Although the film, for obvious reasons, had a large amount of material aimed squarely at kids,...

I see there's been some minor redesign of the SG front page. I'm not too impressed, frankly. I'd like the option of customizing what parts of the page I see. Since the page is already broken up into numerous sections that shouldn't be a huge problem.

In other news, some jerk keeps parking his car right next to the fire hydrant across the street from...
