Whoever doesn't love Belle and Sebastian (my favorite band, have to show you the video tape of them at Coachella), Bright Eyes, Damien Jurdado, Sigur Ros(want to see your stuff, if you don't have a pin, I will give you one), Pink Floyd, Bjork, Aphex Twins... all of those bands you mention can go Fuck themselves... Those are my favorite bands.

But uh yeah, I think a lot of kids get into the later/no Syd stonerish Pink Floyd, not sure how many are into it with Syd. A lot of kids I know are but I'd say they were exceptions. mystic spiral isn't a 'real' band. it's a band from the cartoon show, daria [as well as the person i had, until recently, as my 'current crush,' trent lane]. if you ever watch the show- 'mystic spiral' is the god-awful punk band that daria's best friend, jane's, older brother trent leads [jeez- did that sentence make a lick of sense?].
i always put a joke band as 'favorite band.' there are too many artists that i like- i love them all. i love music. before mystic spiral, i had 'dr. teeth and the electric mayhem,' and 'the riverbottom nightmare band.'
sigrid undset is norweigan. she won the nobel prize once. she's best known for the 'kristin lavransdatter' trilogy, but i really like her book 'gunnar's daughter,' about a norweigan girl in the 11th century who gets raped and impregnated by an icelandic viking, and decides to have and raise the child on her own. if you read any of the books, get a modern translation!
