Here is the underdrawing for the next character study. It's far from finished, but I think I nailed his attitude. This guy is an uptight snob, but one that all the other snobs dislike. He is an academic and a scholar, but fancies himself quite the sharpshooting duelist (hence the Outlaw Josey Wales pose).

The setting is a vaguely renaissance-era near-earth, so I've been looking at Titian for the costumes, and ran across a portrait of Niccolo Machiavelli ; an awfully smug and weaselly looking fucker. He was going to be the basis for this character, but once I started drawing, Rumric developed a look all his own.
