first journal ever, kind of intimidating. currently in a pretty good mood, life has been traveling in an upswing lately. promotion at work was nice and unexpected, although it is kicking my ass lately, and sleep has been declining. i also have been able to get in touch with a lot of old chicago friends, which always makes me happy because i think my heart is still in that city. i am currently addicted to myspace, but i am ok with it-
glad summer is here because it means i only have to wait two more months for paddlequest, which really is the highlight of my year, one because i get to chicago, two because i get to spend time with nature in wisconsin getting all dirty in the river, and three because i see a lot of friends i don't get too see that often. oh yeah, four because it is the most fuckin hilarious good time anyone could ever have. five, a sixteen ounce glass of jagermeister on the rocks is only five dollars-talk about heaven

paddlequest is like a float trip meets the amazing race meets dungeons and dragons. it was created by a college friend of mine to make fun of reality tv, and he made a movie out of it. it is now entering its fifth year, and what started out as a three team competition as a joke now has anywhere from 15-20 teams and sponsors. yeah, last year 5 of the the 10 sponsors were alchohol related, point beer being the most notable, and the porn and fireworks shop-gotta love wisconsin and one stop shopping.
