I am writing today because I am disgusted with the whole housewife ideal!!
Why is it that because I stay home and do not work that I am expected by everyone
to have a spotless home? Why should I be expected to run a flawless household?
I am not the maid type. I hate it when anyone EXPECTS me to do anything. After 17 years of marriage
my hubby now expects me to be his little housewife. I wasn't that way when we married. I have worked
most of our marriage, the only time I didn't was between our first and second daughters about 3 years.
We always shared most of the house stuff. It was his decision to have me stay home after I quit my job last year not mine. I am much happier at being creative and designing my quilts and other things, then scrubbing the toilet of the floors. I am very stubborn so when someone acts like I SHOULD do something the way thet want the less I want to do it. I even mentioned to my mom that he wanted me to be his little housewife and that I didn't htink after 17 years he had the right to want me to change. I should have known that she would side with him. She said yes he did have the right to change and change his expectations and that I should do what he wants because that is my job! MY JOB!! I am so ticked about this. I hate the whole little women staying home.

Yea ok, she raised me to be this way. Never a slave to a man. Independant, have a brain and voice of my own. What a crock! I know he would not be slaving over the house if he stayed home. I don't know what has gotten into him lately.
