I have been busy lately!!! My parents got their grant money from the state, so they can finally start to rebuild their house. Only two years after the hurricane!!! I have been over there helping with the painting and I even laid their ceramic tile floor in the kitchen. Only trouble is yesterday I irriitated a sore muscle in my neck so I will be...

I received some bad news the other day. Seems that my grandmothers leukemia is no longer resonding to the chemo. Besides the fact that the chemo is making her sicker than crap. She was in the hospital for a week because it gave her ulcers in her stomach and then to make it worse after performing every test imaginable they could not find out what...

Ah, medical science - they make it up as they go along most of the time.

So you live far from your grandmother?

Nothing in the world like grandparents - golden they are. I'm sorry to hear this news of yours, and I hope some good comes to her before the end.

In such a garden are grown the usual suspects, herb-wise, though not so much the very foreign plants, since back then they couldn't be got. A lot of native plants that most of us these days stupidly dismiss as weeds were grown for medicinal and culinary uses back then, and were very highly valued, so I'll be sowing or planting as many of those as I can fit in.

How are things today?

We made it back from Vegas!!!! WOW! I thought these crazy people in New Olreans knew how to party. That place never stops. Hubby and I had a great time, even though we were there too short a time. Probably could have stayed there 2 weeks and would never have seen everything.

I have never seen such huge casinos the ones here in and Biloxi...

I am trying to read T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land. Does anyone have any advice for me, because I am having a difficlut time. I can read the words, but I am sure that I am missing something and I am not sure what it is. Maybe just because I have not read enough to help me understand his references. It seems that he has...

Chrysssiiiiiiiiiii! biggrin How are you?

I love that J.M. Barrie quote. You can't keep a good Scotsman/woman down wink

The first picture is a wooden church in Slovakia. I love things made of wood; and I love grass and meadows and trees; so the picture just makes me go all dreamy.

The plant is called sainfoin, which comes from old French words (or was it Latin? confused ) which mean 'healthy hay', because it's an excellent fodder plant for cows. It doesn't grow naturally in Scotland, sadly - not quite warm enough; it grows in England well enough. In biodynamic agriculture it's believed the plant's presence on a farm has a kind of homeopathic effect on the soil of the whole farm and helps crops grow.

You're welcome biggrin

You know, I had an English teacher (English the subject) when I was 15/16 who called us all his cherubs. He did it with supreme irony, though, of course wink

I'm bored!!!

Nothing is very interesting right now. I hate when I feel this way. I know if I do not stop this way of feeling then it will lead to more boredom and eventually I will find myself asleep in my bed alone. Depression will soon follow. Along with its usual friends, self hate and pain and loathing, and pretty much disliking any and...

I'm sorry that things are low for you though, but a VW van or camper would deffinatly help that wink it gives you the freedom to just pack up a couple of days worth of supplies and just see where the road takes you biggrin (may i recomend getting a surfboard and heading to the coast as well tongue wink )

dont worry if you cant think of a name right away there is still plenty of time before the end of the compertition smile

if you want to try surfing i can put you in touch with a bunch of lads in texas that surf on the waves coused by oil tankers coming in to port?

yeah a village life is much nicer, i hate having to live imn a city, in a village everyone kind knows each other as its such a small place and you dont get the noise and stuff that you get in a town or city, the down side is that you need a car to do anything as everythings miles away and you need to think ahead as just popping out for something isnt as easy, oh and most take aways wont diliver to you but hay i can live with that smile
