Fitness Update

Weight loss and fitness have been a major challenge for me lately. While I'm doing well on my 1st (only 2 sodas in 7 weeks) & 3rd (no cake, cookies, etc. for a week) 3-week challenges, I struggle with being able to get in a daily 30 walk. I have been about 4 for 7 on that one. I don't seem to be making any progress on the scale and my blood sugar has been higher than normal, to the point where I had to bump my daily insulin dosage back up by 2 units (it had dropped 2 unites several weeks ago).

However, I've been making a real effort to ramp up my exercise. I bought a new pair of walking/running shoes that don't squish my toes. The bike I gifted to a friend a couple months ago is coming back to me this week. When that happens I plan to start biking to work (work is so close that it's a 5 minute drive or a 25 minute walk). And today, I took my first yoga class. I was only able to get through about half of it, spent a lot of time in corpse, child, and warrior 4, but I came out feeling good and craving 2 things: a grape soda and a walk. I indulged myself in both, and let me say, 75 minutes of yoga followed by a 45 minute walk in the hot sun is quite a workout. Add to that the work I did in my yeard today and I'm sure I'm going to be sore tomorrow.

But the exercise I did today left me feeling so good and so motivated that I got things done today, rather than lying around watching movies and surfing the Internet, which was the original plan. So, um, go team me?

nym:
I need to start doing some exercises, for my physical and mental health. But I really don't like the gym and I live far away from somewhere where I can do yoga. I need to stop giving excuses too, take the train for one hour and do yoga somewhere.
