I've been following the Culture section very closely and getting the new writers set up, so I haven't had a whole lot of time and energy to do what I enjoy doing: writing articles.

But it's nice when people like the newswire and what it has become. I attribute it to amazing people who are dedicated, diligent, and maybe drunk.

As Kevin Sampsell speaks about the title piece from his new book Beautiful Blemish, he holds his fork a few inches above his plate and reflects on old people having sex.

Obviously when youre writing a piece like that, especially when youre pushing that boundary, you cant force feed it; you just have to start writing and once you get to a certain part,...

did you see god today? the rainbow that cut across the sky? it was much more defined and complete than any rainbow i've ever seen in my life.

i was afraid that the sunset was so beautiful, nobody would look the other way and see the rainbow.

We've moved our office around and it looks so neat. I also woke up in a foul mood and before I was conscious snapped at Katie. I'm going to get her a white mocha while she's taking a nap in addition to getting her a tasty treat.

I also am slowly getting obsessed with finishing this damn interview.

Doing much better. I'm also addicted to late night television. And I'm salivating over plasma screen tvs. Also, katiejane is the shiz.

I'm very tired, a little out of my head, and I have tunnel vision from editing and a horrible headache. I'm also thankful for all of the wonderful people on the Newswire. They are wonderful writers and editors.
I'm also starting on a short story.
legionnaire:
I'd love to read some of your longer work. Trust me, the newswire appreciates you more than you know.

Reading a book about art, politics, and the CIA.

Also, I have to edit it. By tomorrow. I'm on page 56 of 257.

Hey, there were a few typos and grammatical errors in the MPAA spycam story by Seanbonner, so I fixed those. I hope that's cool.

Good luck with your book. That sounds like a daunting task.

The stage has been set. The players are in their places. The audience is quietit's a full house.

Let's see what happens.

I don't think I've ever played for an audience of one hundred and fifty thousand before. Yet somehow, someway, I've managed to avoid the nerves.

"Publishing has been considered, like the wine trade, an occupation permissible for gentlemen, perhaps from the fallacy that the most necessary qualification was an appreciation of literature. In fact, then as now, a publisher, to achieve success, needed charm, financial acumen, a foreknowledge of the future, a stony heart , and a very rich wife."

Hey man, I'm really excited to hear about the plans that you and Totten have for the newswire. Having Susannah Breslin posting here will be really cool, and having Wil Wheaton would be huge as well. Good luck with everything...
