For my 18th birthday a few years back, one of me best friend's bought me a book of my favorite photographer, Bruce Davidson. The book was titled "Brooklyn Gang". I was talking to her tonight and she was telling me that every time she goes into a bookstore, she can't find it anymore. She think's its out of print. So I look online...it is out of print. Amazon no longer carries it new, but you can buy it used....for $196. The listed price is $500. No kidding. That made my fucking day. Im never going to sell this book, I love it. Its my favorite one of his...but it's damn nice to know I have in my possesion a book worth $500.

Nova is precious! Tell candace I said congratulations, and I hope to be in touch with her soon. Not having a car or internet access at home is making it difficult to keep up with things around here. I am teh sux.

I agree with you completely. More art. More music. As part of everyday education. I also think an emphasis should be put on the cathartic elements involved in creating. In the art classes I had in elementary school it was more like we were doing crafts than thinking about creating and expressing. They are missing out on a great way to help young people cope with a society that becomes more and more stressful everyday.

Awesome photos. I can see why people like the book enough that it became that valuable. The fact that it went out of print though makes me a little sad.
