Well... IM BACK! Anyone miss me? I hope so, cause I missed you all!
okay, here it goes....ready?
SATURDAY: Wake up around 9am, and recieve a call about 10am asking if I could get another ride to Candaces house. Apparently she had woken up with contractions and had gone into labor. I rush as quickly as I can to wash my face, shove some unpacked clothes into my bag and run out (w/o makeup mind you) as my brother in law takes me out there.
I get to her house and theres a note on the door saying they had to get to th hospital and to get Nathan (her son) from the neighboors. I grab him and soon her dad shows up to take us to the hospital.
Candace is still okay but this time (12pm). Shes all hooked up and already 9cm dilated. At about 6pm they finally give her some Pitocin to kick the contractions into shape and at about 6:30 shes ready to go...they get her all in position and the doctor suits up. First push at 6:40, and at 6:54pm on 8/29/04 our healthy baby girl is born. She had the cord around her neck pretty tight to she md cut it and got made sure she was breathing alright. Then handed her over to mama. It was beautiful. It really was. I dont know why I ended up putting any makeup on, cause it eventually came off. It wasnt all that bad though. I wasnt grossed out. Or though it was icky. Yes, I saw direct shot of my best friends box and a baby coming out of it. But it was all just such a beautiful experience.
Nova Mai- 9lb 12oz. 21in. with pudgy pudgy cheeks, cute olive skin, full head of dark hair, 10 fingers 10 toes, and adorable swinty eyes. My little ching chong. (sorry if thats offensive to anyone, but SHE IS!
So so so SO damn cute, and mine..so I can say that.
)
SUNDAY: Bring baby home, Nathan gets aquanted. He now pets her, gives her kisses and 'rasberrys' on her tummy and back. (you know, when you blow on your skin and make a farting sound. haha)
TUESDAY: Novas first doctors appt. We were watching the neighboors kid at this time too, a 5 year old and only child. Being with Nathan, who 'was' an only child...its a bit difficult. So the waiting room was a tuff one.
Nova had a bit on Jaundice. She did not like the drawing of blood at all. Poor thing. Anyways, the Jondas wasnt that bad and is very commen in breast feed babys, so we took her home and keep some sun light on her.
The week went by pretty much the same. I rested, did nothing, watching TV, some movies, caught up on some homework and much needed sleep. Played some Rummy and Clue. Ran around the house with Nathan, and napped with Nova. It was relaxing to do nothing.
WEDNESDAY: Another doctors appt. Check up on Novas Jaundice. Still okay, a bit elevated, but nothing to worry on. Took the kids to the park, realised Nathan had no diaper on. Yup....ended up that he took it off while we were at the house. BEFORE we went to the doctors and all. Luckly nothing happened. haha.
SATURDAY: Candace was told to take Nova to ther E.R for tests on her Jaundice. They said the day before that it was elevated and to take her is ASAP the next morning. They admited her, put IV's in her little hands (which had NO fucking point, since they wernt giving her antibiotics or anything). Candace said she freaked out, seeing her daughter like that, I can only imagine. Turns out, shes okay. They discharged her a few hours later. Said to give her sunlight and some water.
SUNDAY: Went out to Morneo Valley for a BBQ and to celebrate our new addition. It was nice. Got shunned for being to quiet from Jefferson, who I hadnt hungout with in a long while. So I drank...and got un-quiet.
We all discussed the fall of Hip-Hop, Troops in Iraq, LSD, reproducing BrainCells, if we really DO use only 10% of our brain, sex, masturbating, fighting. Mostly thing you should not debate while drinking and pretty much everyting under the sun. But it was all pretty damn fun.
MONDAY: Got pee'd on. Yup. That was nice. When Novas sleeping, we sometimes loosen her diaper cause theyre a bit tight on her (9lb12oz, come on, shes a heffer). So I was napping with her on my chest it suddenly felt a bit warm on my stomach...I feel and sure enough, my hands went. She pee'd. hahaha. Its okay though. Lucky for me, it doesnt smell or really stain like urin yet. Since shes only taking in breast milk. So I laughed and Candace laughed at me, and I hop in the shower very quickly.
TUESDAY (today): One more doctor appt. The doctors said the E.R md was a dumbass. He wasnts even a Pediatrician! Give an infant water is not good. It wont harm them, but its not good. Its empty calories. They arnt getting any nutriants that infants need. Nothing in their stomach. Well, Candace has a weird feeling about it and gave her very little anyways. Let some sun get to her all day Sunday, and some Tuesday...Baby Nova is doing fine. Everything went down, her eyes and skin arnt as yellow anymore. And we are all happy happy people.
Now Im home, and have to start work again tomorrow.
It sucks. I miss sleeping in till.. ha 9! But I had a good nights sleep all week. 'Cept when Nathan had a bad dream, but once I got him to feel better and back to sleep. All was well. Im gonna miss him.
Tomorrow I call the driving school and make an appt. for driving class. I can afford it right now, and Candace is calling around for cheap/decient appartments in Moreno Valley/Riverside area. So, we'll see how things go!
How have all YOU been??? hmm....? Congradulate me on my new baby and tell me something exciting that happened to you this past week.
