I think that would be a lovely idea! love

I tried to call you at the station last nite but dialed the wrong number.... Then tried to call back by hitting re-dial... And again... And again... And again....

I'm goin to the BFA show after work, but I'll be back and I'll get ahold of you somehow.

YAY! after 15 minutes of digging around this site, i finally found where and how to update this thing.

I should say off the bat, that this is hardly my primary journaliing location, to see that you'd have to go to CLICKY CLICKY

so last weekend, I went with the GF Connie, and her good friend Jill to see the darkness in Wisconsin.

hey there -
well i'm glad to hear that it was acme that is the surviving comic shop. .... downtown renovation is an interesting thing. i think - in theory - i'm really behind the idea. i think the hotel, an upscale eatery & store or two would be really good for the university (in terms of bringing in academic conferences & really helping to move the school up another notch). i just think that it's unfortunate that the plans also have (had?) a bit of an element of sanitizing downtown - sort of doing away w/the student bits (bars, head shops etc) & making it disneyland wink
(isn't that what veteran's pkwy is for?!!?!)

glad you had a good time w/the darkness. i'd get a kick out of seeing them live - they crack me up AND rock my ass smile
celluloid:
Yes, it was FUN! We should do it again... Later... MUCH later...

there were 2 comic shops, but i can't keep them straight. one is gone now.

Deadpan Alley, an indy record store is also now gone, that place was good. Had Murder By Death play there, but i missed that.

It's not a terrible area, but I'm ready to leave. I've been here for about 3 years, and hopefully i'll be out and about in the real world come December.

as for FAT JACKS, i know the place yer talking of, but I don't frequent the bars very often, being straight edge and all.

whoa. one of the comic shops & dead pan are gone? that's crazy...were they victims of the downtown renovation plan?

(oh hey, just to let ya know...most of the time when people respond to a comment someone has left in their journal, they do it in the other person's journal. hardly required - just a recommendation. from one newbie to another).

take it easy!
