Cannabis Call! 💨🍃

So who here is a cannabis user? I have been an avid pot smoker for 11 years now, and have never regretted it... I am blessed to have cannabis in my life! It has truly saved me, for many years it has aided in both physical and mentally ailments, it hasn’t always been just a recreational thing for me.

I started smoking when I was newly 12 years old, which may seem a bit young... but I’m from Southside Chicago and honestly it was like the thing to do for a lot of us! We would walk around the neighborhood and sit on the benches at the back of the park and smoke a bowl or if I was with the right crew we smoked blunts. Occasionally we’d end up at one of the hoodlums houses who’s parents didn’t care much about what they did and we’d smoke there until getting kicked out for being too loud and hit the streets once again heading towards another park or McDonalds... until we got kicked out of there too. Hahahah

I started smoking when I was 12 but never actually bought my own weed until I was 16! I didn’t learn how to roll blunts until I was 18, and I still don’t know how to roll joints 11 years into smoking! I pack little joint cones though hehe. Good enough!

BUT, I have never had interest in experimenting with anything else. Weed always made the most logical sense to me.. it’s a plant.. you can pretty much see what’s goin on with it.. and the high is pretty mellow 🤷🏻♀️ There’s no crazy crash, no sickness after or during.. I don’t have any side effects personally. I’ve never been much of a drinker, at that age I had experimented with drinking occasionally as I had older siblings and older friends but was never much of my interest, either. Weed stuck with me!

I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when I was about 15 after being hospitalized at my own demand after years of struggling with multiple symptoms and good ol teen years of fumbling around with mental illness, suicidal tendencies and the works.

Weed fit well in there! Between the mania and depression it was & is a cozy pillow keeping me in place.

Within that same year I was told I have Lumbar Myalgia after complaining about nonstop, extensive back pain and bonus (!) nothing can cure it! Fast forward about 7 years here I am with Rapid Cycling Bipolar Disorder, Lumbar Myalgia, whiplash, a herniated disc & nerve damage/pinched nerves. Woohoo!

For nearly 11 years I’ve aided these ailments with a majority of cannabis only. It’s the perfect fit for me, and yes I’ll admit there is plenty of times I use it simply for recreation. However, most of my cannabis usage is directly towards mellowing me out both mentally & physically. It helps me sleep, alleviates my physical pain, aids me mentally by helping me relax or keeping me fairly off the edge and focused.

I just enjoy it all around! I know what’s it in, nothing foreign is entering my body, it’s all natural. I’ve taken pain killers for my back, I’ve taken mood stabilizers for my mental illness.. I hate them haha. They make me feel weird, my tummy feels funny, i don’t even know what the hell is in most of them. Just ugh, ew, no. Not a fan haha.

Marijuana all the way! Who is a cannabis user? Whether for recreation or medicinal. Do you smoke? Do you prefer edibles, flower, concentrates? Bongs, bowls, blunts, vapor..? What’s your poison? What’s your reason? What’s your cannabis story? 💚🌱💨

I have a few medical issues. Celiacs disease as well as having issues that deal with spinal trauma. I have done some research that says I might medically benefit from it. IL just passed the law so I am looking in to getting the card. Because of the work I used to do, I wasn’t allowed to get a card before. I also lived for a year near Chicago Ridge, btw. 😁
