Hmmm...

I am often disapointed by people.

Just when you get to know someone and you think they're intelligent. You think they're everything you like in a person. Then you find out they can be so heavily manipulated by another person that it completely changes their way of thinking about certain things.

It's very sickening to watch. Yesterday it made me cry. I don't know why it upset me so much. This person is only a friend. I suppose I was crying because I'm always astounded at how disapointed I can can be with humanity. Why do they stop questioning? Why do they just accept the things they have even through they know it makes them unsatisfied? If western culture has taught us nothing else, surely it's taught us that we should never give up. We should always be striving for that extra mile.

I just don't understand how one person can brain wash a whole crowd of people into his way of thinking. How can one person be so manipulative?! Are the rest of them so weak willed that they just accept the inevitable. What are they scared of if they speak out against him?

People are so scared to have minds of their own. They're scared to formulate their own opinions and let their opinions be heard. They would rather accept what the crowd; the majority are saying. They'll go along and accept someone elses opinions; someone elses likes and someone elses dislikes.

Is it so hard and scarey to say what you think? It can't be.

This same person was almost arguing with me to defend an opinion which I know is not his. The opinion which he has adopted from his manipulative friend. He is willing to argue his friend's opinion as if it were his own. Yet when it comes to his own opinions he'll let it pass. He'll surpress them.

It makes me cry and it makes me sick, but mostly it makes me scream.

WHY?!

It's always fun to go to the game. There were a couple of 16-year-old girls in front of me squealing at all the young cute players during practice and then calling their friends on their cell phones to say "Vrbata looked at me!"
I want me some Skoula. He's a hottie. But all the guys around me utterly hated him, it was kind of funny. I kept pointing out everything he did right, and they kept pointing out everything he did wrong.
You have got to come to this side of the atlantic and go to some games. It's a rush, even if they do play badly.
I just noticed that this sort of relates to your journal entry, since I was defending my beliefs in the face of opposition (that Skoula is a worthwhile contributor to the team. more so than Derek Morris). biggrin

Cool to see a beatufiul British hockey fan! Hope you can get to a game sometime. (I propose becoming a Flames fan, because 1)we're due to have a winning season sometime, and 2)it's easy to get tickets. smile)
