I knew that Johnny Cash was dead before I even saw the news this morning. Last night I was watching the MTV video awards and they played a clip of the Hurt Video (Cash's version of course). I said something about him (I don't even remember what), and used the past tense.
The friend I was sat with pointed out that he wasn't dead. But I knew he was. It was a strange feeling, it felt like I was remembering something wrong. But I knew it.
I don't know how I knew, I just did. It's creepy and depressingly sad that I could know such things (without really knowing). I mean, I almost always (99.9% of the time) know who is calling before I answer the phone... but this is too much. I don't want to feel these things.
R.I.P Mr. Cash.

Edit: I just want to make it clear - while it is sad Johnny Cash passed away, I'm in no way saying "oh he was too great to die". He was afterall only a person, and all people die. At least he managed to make a mark on the world while he was here. It's what he should be remembered for
