Opened a new account yesterday after a 4 year break so I guess I'm back, though I didn't really use the site that much before. I think the last time I was on SG I was kicking H in NW Indiana. So 86 Philly, I've been in San Diego for almost 5 years and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. The weather is nice all the time and people are really laid back, they moved here for those that (we're all transplants). The food scene sucks but the people don't (and refuse) to realize that. A lot of the natives I know are ignorant and vapid but generous and well meaning. Shit, I just realized how long I've been here and I think that's why people stay. It's easy here, expensive as fuck, but very welcoming to your complacency. I miss pushing myself to be the best but I don't miss the strain on my body and relationships. That's why I'll probably stay, expectations are low and my standards are just high enough to get by. As much as I miss the scenes in NYC, Philly and Chicago I'll never miss the words wind chill, heat index or humidity.
