so my fourth was uneventful. We ended up staying home. The wife's urge to go to a party faded into sleep all afternoon pretty quickly. I made my ribs which were ridiculous. A friend of ours and her daughter are in town from Kansas so they came over. Her daughter is the ziz' age so they played hard. We went over to the isu golf course to watch the fire works. So much less crowded than the park. The girls had a blast. The wife blew up a bunch of her stash but still has plenty for down south.
Speaking of going down south. My grandfathers birth day party is this coming Sunday. He lives in southern Illinois at the confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi rivers. They are both flooding right now. By Sunday the restaurant that was supposed to be catering the party should be surrounded by water. My mom called today kind of freaking out. It may not happen because we may not be able to get into the county. His house never floods but the roads get covered and the bridges get closed when the rivers are high. If we can get there though I will be cooking it. That would be fun.
The girls had their school physicals today. They got good reports and are healthier than last time. The ziz was hoping to have lost some weight which didn't happen because she got so much taller but her BMI was so much better. Riding her bike a ton has really upped her activity level. I have been cooking a ton at home and that is good for us all. We eat out too much and more so the more I work. It has been good for us all to eat real meals at real times. I have been making healthier things at the request of the wife. I haven't lost weight but it has only been a week since I've been off. It feels like a month. I feel so much better. My feet aren't sore, my hips and back aren't sore. Even though I am considerably less caffeinated without the coke I am not falling asleep every time I sit down. I have a functional brain again complete with patience and calm. I might get used to this.
