I'm working on a dream band that is...something else entirely. It will take me a couple of days to perfect. Be patient. This one will...it will count as 3 or 4 dream bands.

I saw Laurel Canyon a couple hours ago. Good movie. It keeps you distant at first, as Christian Bale and Kate Beckinsale keep everything distant from themselves, but it pulls you in...ha, "pulls you in", I accidentally made a reference to stuff IN the movie. And what can you say about Frances McDormand? She likes Pulp, in real life even. She rocks.
"Say something more about it, Cheech" -- Well look, you all know about it right? Christian plays a guy who is basically uptight; not heartless though. His mom is played by Frances, a rock producer who's lived the rock life (think bongs, joints, AC/DC t-shirts, a mansion full of vinyl albums). Yes, there are lots of Odd-Couple moments, but yeah the movie has more depth than that, finally.
Oh and also there's Alessandro Nivola as Ian, but...don't make me say it... no, don't make me say it....no...okay, damn it, he's hot. Are you happy? You're gonna make me sound like "a gay" to use the Hank Kingsley term. Oh, and Lou Barlow is damn cute too, but he's barely in the movie. One of these days, I'm gonna have to buy some Sebadoh and Bright Eyes records, for deviant reasons if none other...I don't know how I left Christian Bale outa this discussion, Little Women's Laurie, droool...uh, where was I? Oh yeah, But I'm straight, man, I'm straight! (this is a reference to Sandra Bernhard's "Mighty Real", off of Without You I'm Nothing. "Mad props" to those who know....)
Oh, and The Guy From Sparklehorse has a cameo, as two of his songs are heavily featured.
