There is actually a reason I didnt do a dream band yesterday. Aside from Zappa, I was also obsessing on Cant Buy A Thrill. For those of you who know not of what I write, its like this I FUCKING LOVE STEELY DAN!!! Not the newer stuff, but the old stuff. I was ashamed and embarrassed to say this on a goth-punk-emo site (does anyone actually call themself emo?), but in the Washington City Papers Now Playing section, album picks by critics, guess which album Anne Marson picked this week? So I will stand by my Dan, and also add that they have some great acerbic wit available on their website, such as their open letters to the Rock Hall of Fame when they were passed up for induction, Walter Beckers subsequent auction of the Award that they won on SDBay, and some funny interview comments. (Ex. Which song is the quintessential Steely Dan song? Donald Fagan - Ride, Captain Ride. Walter Becker - Year of the Cat.)

I will include anyone else who posts that they like Dan. I work from the assumption that everyone on SG hates classic rock, and jamming bands in particular (hi, toaster) until I read otherwise. Thank you.

Sounds like Neil Young and Crazy Horse avant-stoner-metal, with some bizarre passages using feedback-as-soloing, and soundscapes and drone-rock a la Stereolab and Spacemen 3 using purely guitar effects-as synths, no actual synths.
Yeah, okay Cheech, but why Kelly Osbourne? Shes a brat and she cant play guitar. Okay, first of all, MTV edits their reality shows to show the most conflict, so out of the 800 hours of filming they do per week, theyre gonna show the one fight she has with someone.and yeah, shes kinda a brat and cant play guitar. But IumI have.a HUGE, GIGANTIC CRUSH on her, okay??? And Sarah, too. Oh, fuck off. Its my dreamdamn it!

and I miss Franchise already
