I mentioned before that Publisher's Weekly uses odd words. They used "ludic" in a poetry book review and said "AHA!! A typo!" Nope. It exists. the dictionary says it means "playful". LUDIC? Okay.

I saw this quote in the front of a book about insanity I flipped through at work:
"Well, we have to take our share of the illnesses of our time, and it seems after all only right that- having lived for years in relatively good health- we should sooner or later receive our part. As for me, you must know that I shouldn't precisely have chosen madness if there had been any choice, but once such a thing has taken hold of you, you can't very well get out of it." - Vincent Van Gogh, from an 1889 latter written while he was involuntarily confined in a psychiatric hospital.
It makes me ask myself -- would I rather be insane if I could make great art like Van Gogh, making a sunflower or an olive tree or a bed or a pool table with such a powerful presence on a canvas? Was Van Gogh actually insane? Am I as insane as Van Gogh was, and nobody (including myself) knows it? Am I actually more insane than Van Gogh?

sounds like - Neubaten and The Melvins, a little metal, a lot industrial, a crushing blow of noise from bass cabinets unfriendly to neighboring clubs, STUN, THUD, the D has been dropped (tuning-wise). Um, does anyone in the band know German? Or at least Dutch? Russian? Bulgarian ( is there a Bulgarian?)? It'd sound so much more industrial, damn it...
