Morgan was asking "Don't all politicans lie?"
Well...it's true, money rules everything in the USA nowadays...and it's true the guys who signed the Constitution had slaves...and all politicians have to play a popularity contest, and toe party lines (if they're in the big parties, who win all the elections).
You could take these things, get really jaded, and say why vote?
Well, one of the things McCain stood for was campaign finance reform, i.e. STOPPING money from ruling everything. I understand from my friend Jimmy that his plans weren't that great, but hey, it's a start.
I understand that if Dukakis, or Harry Browne, or McCain had gotten into office, they too would have lied, some, to please the party and get popularity. But there are degrees. I think the Bushes and Clinton lied in a way that was more offensive than the other guys would have (well, Dole, I dunno). Clinton, like I said, Hitchens documented his beefs, and I find them compelling. The Bushes, I think they're callous rich guys. Some people thought Dole was a mean guy. I thought Dole was an angry guy about some things, but not mean and privileged like the Bushes, or not nearly as much.
Anyway, the latest political appointment, as documented in Nic's journal, was Hel as head of the CIA. Any requests for other political positions from you, my journal readers? Please submit applications below. Cherry was asking if Nic could rule England instead of Iraq. The answer is NO! You're in Iraq, Nic, deal.
The leader of England is...hmmm...gotta be Jarvis Cocker!
