One of the things I often think about is how STUPID it seems to ask people out based on thinking they're good-looking...because, I mean, there's no more likelihood that someone you find attractive will be compatible with you than someone you DON'T find attractive....right?
On the other hand, I think a hell of a lot of people go out based on just being attracted to one another and it does work out.
I was looking at the Parade section (this is a weekly thing in many American newspapers, for those abroad) interview with Michael Caine. His first marriage, in the 50s, ended after two years. I would imagine they had a normal courtship, him not being famous yet or anything, yet he said he had "screaming nightmares" about the marriage and he never wanted to get married again...
You know how he met his next wife? She was in a Maxwell House coffee ad in the early 70s. Michael got her number, and called her a bunch of times for a date. She said no way. Finally he says he's gonna give up...then he sees the ad on the TV again, and calls her one more time...
They've been married for THIRTY YEARS. They are in fact STILL married. How weird is that?
For anyone out there into Hello Kitty, I saw in Publisher's Weekly that there's two books coming out with those removable-plastic-sticker things inthem, Hello Kitty - Hello Shapes, and Hello Kitty's House & Garden. Why am I talking about it on here? Cuz I figure the ratio of punk rock girls versus actual children who buy HK tchotchkes is about 10 to 1. I like My Melody.
Also, one last thing about cars. No, I don't drool over cars, or have those dumb-ass Lambourghini posters on my wall....BUT there are some really freaky cars back in the history of vehicle design, and some are like works of art. Some you might've seen, like 1950s Cadillacs...but how many of you have seen Delahaye luxury cars from the 1930s? Some of them are the WEIRDEST, most PSYCHEDELIC cars I've ever seen, like Peter Max meets R Crumb. However, some of them are also really classy and conservative cars. How this company failed, I have NO idea.

Just check out the cars, particularly the one at the bottom left corner. This isn't the best pic I've seen of it, but it's the only one I've seen online...that is a freaky-fresh car.
