8/16 edit- If you sent me email to get CDs and tapes last week, my Hotmail filtering might've flaked out and trashed it. It seems to have been acting randomly lately... so if you're a first time emailer to me, please try again. Thanks.

First of all, fun party in Richmond. Tryst is a heroine to the bent folks of our trashy state capital. I have learned what beer pong is, and that you just don't play versus Tryst.
kevykev, nice to see ya
NoControl is really one of my favorite people on the site. He put me up for the night, and is one of my favorite people to sit around and talk about random junk.
Isadora and infornography have stripped Frank Black's title of Teenager of the Year. They are Teenager of the Year.
The Village is okay, but M Night's own spoiler during the TV broadcast commercial-bumpers of The Sixth Sense made it obvious to me that one of 4 things was going on in the movie. As a suspense movie, where you can pretty much see where it's going, you aren't as satisfied as if it's a regular movie based on good dialogue and statements about people and life that ring true, insightful, and touching. If this is what people mean by "Shyamalan should give up trick-ending-type movies," that he should concentrate more on movies that resonate with the soul and life and getting in touch with the real world, then I can agree.
Lastly, I spent a good few hours with my family's cat, Isabella, tonight. Having a crap little apartment and no pets of my own, and not many opportunities for physical affection in the world, it means a lot to me when she deigns to sitting in my lap. Today, after a couple hours, I had to remove her to go get dinner, and 20 minutes later, when I went downstairs, she was crying for something. Naturally, I assumed she wanted to go out, or eat.
It turned out she just wanted to sit on my lap again. After some 15 years, with long periods where I wasn't even around, she really loves me... that means a lot to me.
Here is a pic of her, dated June 1990. In her earliest days in my family's house, she was a total spaz who kept climbing up things, such as these curtains:
The poor things can't climb or jump much anymore, but she still has energy and still has some life in her step. She also slept with me for much of my three-day fever last Xmas.
I hope to have a few more years with her yet. She's my favorite cat of all time.

Teenager of the year, eh? I'm going to have to go say hi, they seem rad.
Can't WAIT to get down to the sounds of the underground...
