I saw Fire Walk With Me again last night, and I really like it. I suppose that's a boring opening sentence. As I told mtlqueen, my main memory of it from the first viewing was Lil... she's her mother's sister's daughter... yeah, I love that scene, but also so many more things I forgot. The friggin' GREAT music in the Bang Bang club. The coke deal scene in the woods with Bobby and Laura. Sheryl Lee is so funny in that scene... then it turns, and you see how fucked-up Laura is. It's one of the first scenes where you really go, "God, she is a mess." I also knew I'd liked Chris Isaak in the movie, but really he does a damned good job.

I was gonna go into what the movie's about, and do a spoiler warning, but ya know what? This is the one movie where the message is so obvious that I really don't feel I even need to go into it... and no, the message isn't "drugs are bad," although that is hinted, I guess... no, it's much more the root of why Laura has gone insane... which is just obvious.
