Well, miss_lady is right. My image didn't work. I was trying to give a treat to Clara by depicting the other Clara... but the FAQ lies, you cannot link from My Pics images... well, I can't anyway.
Tell you what, I feel really lethargic, so I will put down something I had lying around for my Journal. I got the Blender with the Fifty Worst Songs Ever in it, and I was hoping to say I liked a lot of them but... most of 'em are pretty bad. I did manage to make a list of ten I like to various degrees, so here are my favorite songs on the list:
Most Favorite
1. "Party All the Time" - Eddie Murphy. I love this song; it could've lost the somewhat drifting, extraneous last 40 seconds, but otherwise a great, song.
2. "Kokomo" - the Beach Boys. I used to hate this song... then in 1995 I was working at a video store, where promo- videos ran by the counter. One of them started with a version of "Kokomo" by the Muppets, sang by Kermit. At this point, I fucking hated the song! I was telling coworkers, "Aggh, he can't sing! I don't even like the original!!" ...but then a funny thing happened. After a few dozen times, I started to like it a lot. And I ended up liking the Beach Boys one too.
3. "MmmMmmMmmMmm" - the Crash Test Dummies. I dunno what to say... the "aah aah aah aah" chorus parts really make my neck hair stand.
4. "I'm Too Sexy" - Right Said Fred. I can't imagine I'd even have to defend this song. You'd have to be John Ashcroft to hate something so pleasantly gay.
5. "The End" - The Doors. Actually a fairly respected song... goes on too long, sure, but the first couple minutes helped make Apocalypse Now one of the best anti-war films ever. If "all the children are insane" doesn't explain everything going on in Iraq, I dunno what does.
6. "The Sounds of Silence" - S & G. Another respected song... Blender's beef is that some of it is pompous... oh, please, it's a good song. Who cares about lyrics??
7. "O-Bla-Di O-Bla-Da" - The Beatles. They've done better songs, but it's still good.
8. "The Heart of Rock and Roll" - Huey Lewis. I find it charming he defends metal and punk in the song, yet "hip" people like Christgau hated it anyway, which just strikes me as pompous!
9. "I Wanna Sex U Up" - Color Me Badd. I'm not an expert on them like E is but I still think this is pretty good.
10. "She Bangs" - Ricky Martin. This is probably the best Ricky song... which probably isn't on the same level as, you know, best Teenage Jesus and the Jerks song, but I think there are much worse songs on any radio station right now....
