I'm gonna go see Super-Size Me now, so I suppose you can "watch this space for further details" on what I think of it laterrrr
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

(exposition -- Super Size Me is about fast food in general, and movie-creator Morgan Spurlock's health in particular as it is affected by a month-long MCDonald's-only 3-times-daily diet.)

Wow, I'm lovin' it! (as Peter Travers already has quipped) This thing has Michael Moore written all over it, but might have even more importance, as everyone agrees it's a bit out of the ordinary when someone buys a gun... but how many people think twice about people buying fast food? There's a very good chance that right now, wherever you are, you the reader are within a few hundred feet of hundreds of folks buying it and scarfing it perhaps you have some wrappers in front of you? Hey, before the movie, I decided to drop by a Jerrys Subs and I even (a mega-rarity for me) decided to take their super size deal, although, 1) their super-size fries option has actually shrunk from the old $3 cup o fries they had before, and I only half-filled my gargantuan soda cup I was really just looking for more fries, Im not a soda fiend (well, Ribena excepted).

Morgan Spurlock is more balanced in approach and less attacking than Moore. He seems to question the lawsuit approach fairly enough while showing still that companies that make the junkiest food wield power and influence over peoples lives that far exceed the public good achieved by having them around.

The scariest thing about the movie to me is what happens to his liver; its like he went on an all-bourbon diet, the way its chemical-processing functions fly off the charts!

The most interesting parts are about the schools; most of us can make a choice of what we eat, but to see elementary/ high schools converting over to all-junk menus is sobering. I remember a bit about high school myself, lunching on nothing but tart, sugary lemonade and these gross, quasi-shake Wendys-Frosty-esque concoctions that I stupidly liked for a short period.

And the occasionally flashed artwork with the menacing, ghoulish Ronald McDonald is another reason to see it.

Nice to see there's another cool Morgan out there!
